Carina brings a wealth of experience in the intersection of migration lawyer with family law and refugee law, with a particular focus on supporting vulnerable clients through complex and sensitive legal matters. Carina also holds a Masters’ degree where her thesis explored financial and economic violence and coercive control frameworks within family violence, reflecting both her academic rigour and her deep commitment to this area of practice.
Prior to joining WPM Lawyers, Carina worked with the Women’s Legal Service Tasmania, where she provided critical legal support to vulnerable Tasmanians navigating difficult circumstances. Her extensive experience working with clients affected by gender-based violence has equipped her with a nuanced understanding of the legal, personal, and systemic challenges these individuals face, and she approaches every matter with care, precision, and genuine empathy.
In recognition of her outstanding contribution to the Tasmanian legal profession, Carina was awarded the Early Career Lawyer Award, an honour presented to a lawyer who has made a remarkable impact within the first five years of practice.
